My colleague J.N. Campbell has posted his horse-by-horse analysis of the Dubai World Cup and it is fair to say that he fully believes in the Michael Stadham trained horse - 'If this "Boy in Blue" is as sharp as everyone thinks he will be, with the accomplished Luis Saez over to ride, then he should win this race hands down.' - he wrote and it is not hard to see why. Some maybe somewhat surprised that he didn't send undefeated Maxfield overseas but Mystic Guide is not the worst backup plan. Having won the Jim Dandy up at Saratoga and being a winner last time out at Oaklawn for the GIII Razorback - he travels to Meydan as very much the horse to beat.

The Japanese hopes will be strong in Chuwa Wizard. They often get little respect on the world stage but the six year-old has a Group I win to his name in the Champions Cup over in Japan. A tough race in the Saudi Cup may mean plenty have soured on his chances but the way that race was run - with Knicks Go and Charlatan trying to beat each other to the pulp in the early stages - didn't suit many. Plenty of potential value here.

Most US racing fans will know of Jesus' Team. He's yet to win a big one but having been placed in the Preakness, Jim Dandy, Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile and the Pegasus World Cup, you can't ignore the four-year-old. He has every chance of being at the pointy end of this race come the final furlong. 'Big chance to make an impact, and with Joel Rosario in the saddle, he could be guiding this team home in the DWC.' - my colleague wrote and who can argue with that?

Sleepy Eyes Todd is a horse who I've had on my radar for a while but I've hit the point where I've just soured on him being a contender in big races. That win in the Grade II Charles Town Classic was impressive and he did follow that up with a Grade III win at Gulfstream in the Mr. Prospector. A fifth place at Santa Anita in the Awesome Again, a fourth in the Pegasus World Cup and a five at the Pegasus World Cup indicates to me that up against the biggest names under the brightest lights - this five year-old will wilt.

Remember for this race the betting pools will not be US only - they'll be part of a world pool - so it will be fascinating to see how the money flows into this one.
